You're forgetting that no matter what other people say, your house won't feel right to you unless it's what YOU pick.
Also, there's nothing wrong with celebrating your heritage through your paint choices.
Having said that . . . I think you should paint the wall one of your colors . . .(red, green, yellow) . . . whichever one makes you feel good when you look at it. For me, it would be red . . . or maybe green. For many women, it would be yellow. And, if you want one of those pics you have shown, I'd go with the concessions picture or the gumball machines. They seem fun and more in keeping with what you say your room wants to look like.
If you go with the concessions picture, I would even consider painting the wall with thick red and white stripes. Make a theme out of it. That's what they'd do on trading spaces!
I agree totally with Sparklebot - it won't be your room unless you choose yourself. I even like her suggestions.
Just choose whatever you like. It's your room that you have to live with, no one else.
Of your prints - I really like the abstract one, it's very fun. If you choose to paint the wall a solid coordinating color and put that print on it - I'd love it. But don't ask Miguel to approve my opinion, because he and I have opposite taste (and I think his is better than mine).
Awwww CArol it wouldn't be your house if it is not what you want it to be, so with that being said I look forward to seeing what you plan on doing to your house CArol style...FYI I fought for my red bathroom, and everytime ppl. walk in they tell me it looks great and they never would have envisioned travertine with red..make it yours Sparklebot's right. We can only live in beige for so long. Be strong, be brave, and go forth..I'm with you all the way..
Ah Carol - I'm with you on color - and if you don't choose what you like will you be happy? Celebrate your heritage! I'm a boring gringa - all pale colors - so go with your favs! After all, it's just paint, if you change your mind you can chane the paint! Good luck on the sprinklers! Lucky you with a guy who likes to "stage".
